Connect Tastytrade for Automated Trading: Step-by-Step Tutorial
To connect Tastytrade for automated trading on Tradetron, open your profile menu, go to Broker & Exchange, click Add Broker, choose Tastytrade and click Connect. You'll be sent to Tastytrade's own login page to sign in (with a one-time code if asked), then returned to Tradetron with the account shown as connected. It takes a few minutes.

- An active Tastytrade account, funded and approved for the instruments you'll trade. For spreads such as credit spreads or iron condors, you'll need the matching options approval level, usually in a margin account.

- Log in to Tradetron and click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Choose "Broker & Exchange" from the menu.
- Click "Add Broker." The list of supported brokers opens.
- Select Tastytrade from the list.
- Click "Connect." Tradetron starts a secure sign-in with Tastytrade.
- Sign in on the Tastytrade page that opens, and enter the one-time code if Tastytrade asks for one.
- Return to Tradetron. After a successful sign-in you're sent back automatically, and Tastytrade appears as connected under Broker & Exchange.
What to do after connecting
Connecting the broker doesn't start any trading. Nothing happens until you deploy a strategy on that broker.
- Build a strategy in the no-code builder, or pick one from the marketplace.
- Backtest it on historical data and read the report.
- Deploy it Live Offline: the strategy runs and records every trade, but nothing is sent to the exchange. Check that entries and exits happen when you expect.
- Switch to Live Auto when you're satisfied. Orders now go to your Tastytrade account.
- Start small. Use the smallest size the strategy allows until live results match your tests.

Tips before you trade live
- Match approval to strategy. A strategy that sells spreads will be rejected if your account is only approved for covered calls.
- Check buying power. Each spread ties up roughly its maximum loss; make sure the account can hold every position the strategy may open.
- Know the hours. US options trade during regular US market hours, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
